elcome to the Advanced Centre for Plastic Surgery and Medical Day Spa, a specialized medical spa serving the Dr. Phillips and surrounding communities in Central Florida. Unlike day spas and salons that offer skin care, we use only clinically proven, professional strength skin and body care products and treatments, always administered by a Licensed Medical Aesthetician.

We strongly believe that by using a proper daily skin regimen, together with medical-grade skin treatments, you can achieve and maintain healthy, radiant skin. We provide a variety of clinically effective skin and body products, including the Image, Skinceuticals and Biopelle cosmeceutical line.

We also offer the Clarisonic Pro facial cleansing system, which ensures superior product penetration and a more effective home care regimen. For best results, proper skin care should be started earlier in your life, where protection and prevention play key roles. However, you are never too old to begin a good program, and we are committed to help you with that.

We also recognize the vital importance of skin care for patients undergoing aesthetic facial surgery, as healthy skin heals more quickly and responds better to surgery than untreated skin. At the Centre, we will coordinate pre and postoperative treatments together with your surgical plans.

We offer a complimentary skin care evaluation with our Medical Aesthetician. She has undergone extensive and advanced training beyond most facial specialists, and is considered an expert on skin matters and in chemicals used in skin products. Using special magnification, she will examine your skin and discuss heredity and lifestyle issues as they relate to your skin’s condition. Depending on your goals and lifestyle, she will recommend a treatment plan that is best suited for you.

Each product and treatment has been chosen for its effectiveness and overall benefit, and all treatment protocols are under the guidance of supervision of Dr. Matas, Medical Director of the Medical Day Spa.

Laser Resurfacing with Dot Therapy

For patients wanting the ultimate in skin rejuvenation, we offer fractional laser skin resurfacing using a technique known as DOT Therapy. DOT Therapy, using the SmartXide DOT CO2 laser, is ideal for the advanced treatment of sun damage, brown spots, fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity/texture and acne scars.

With traditional laser CO2 resurfacing, which vaporized an entire layer of skin, patients would experience significant downtime, discomfort and prolonged redness. During their lengthy recovery, it would be necessary to stay out of the sun for literally months while they healed, which is difficult to achieve considering our outdoor lifestyle in central Florida.

With DOT therapy, there is minimal downtime, rapid healing and high quality, accurate results. DOT therapy utilizes a “dot” pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving the areas around each “dot” intact. This fractional laser allows for the skin to heal more quickly from the edge of these tiny dots. Treatments are also customized for each patient, based on their Fitzpatrick skin type, lifestyle factors, skin challenges and problem areas. The procedure takes under one hour, is minimally invasive and allows for treatment of multiple issues at once.

Note: Florida law specifies that laser treatments must be performed by properly licensed professionals, and cannot be performed by an Aesthetician or an R.N. without physician supervision. In our practice, all laser treatments are performed by Dr. Matas, with our Aesthetician and a technician assisting.
