CHEMICAL PEELS
Chemical peeling is used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, which causes an exfoliation of the skin and allows new skin to regenerate. As a rule, the deeper the peel, the longer the recovery time. Depending upon the type of peel, there may be a mild to severe burning sensation. It is important to avoid exposure to the sun immediately after a chemical peel since the new skin is fragile and more susceptible to sunburn. Some chemical treatments are best done in a series, having one treatment every 10 to 14 days. Glycolic/Lactic Acid

Jessner's Peel
Jessner's peels can improve discoloration, blemishes, acne, fine lines, sun damaged and weathered skin. Jessner's solution decreases the glue holding dead cells on the skin's surface. Because it is a stronger peeling agent than glycolic acid, it also gently peels away the surface skin cells containing excess pigment. Unlike stronger and deeper peels, Jessner's treatments do not lighten the normal skin. They are, therefore safe for patients with darker skin types, including Hispanic, African American and Asian skin.

TCA Peel
