In addition to carefully choosing your plastic surgeon, Dr. James Matas recommends prospective patients thoroughly research the facility where their surgery will take place. At the Advanced Centre for Plastic Surgery, we have an onsite surgical facility that has been accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities, Inc. (AAAASF). In all aspects of care we prioritize the safety and comfort of our patients, and as part of our commitment to upholding the highest standards, we have met all of the stringent requirements necessary to receive and maintain accreditation.

Among the many requirements of the AAAASF, Dr. Matas and the Advanced Centre for Plastic Surgery are proud to meet the following standards:

• The surgery center must meet all standards required of a hospital
• The facility must meet high safety standards pertaining to medical equipment, medication, and the environment of the facility as a whole.
• The plastic surgeon must have hospital privileges for all of the procedures he wishes to  perform in the onsite facility.
• When deep anesthesia is performed, an anesthesia professional must be present
• The facility must be peer-reviewed and collect all surgical data required for proper evaluation
