How Can I Get a Breast Lift without Noticeable Scars?
Since women undergo a breast lift to improve the appearance of the breasts, minimizing any scarring is essential for patient satisfaction. As with any major surgery, some scarring is inevitable; however, when your breast lift is performed by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon, the visibility of scars can be greatly minimized with:
· Progressive breast lift techniques
· Innovative approaches to suturing
· Careful incision placement
· Post-operative scar treatments
For patients at Advanced Centre for Plastic Surgery who require only a partial breast lift, we typically use a circular incision around the areola. The scar resulting from this incision can often be easily hidden along the edge of the areola and usually results in very minimal visible scarring.
Patients who require a full breast lift typically have an incision around the areola as well as an incision from the areola extending toward the bottom pole of the breast and along the underside. The resulting scar is usually in the shape of an anchor. This technique is used to remove any excess skin and tighten the remaining skin as well as reshape the natural breast.
The nature of the scars that may result from your breast surgery will be thoroughly discussed during your consultation so you can make a well-informed decision about your body and your health. Most of our patients find that the benefits of breast lift surgery greatly outweigh the downsides. Additionally, your scars will typically lighten and fade over time, and you can fully enjoy the confidence that can come with rejuvenated, youthful-looking breasts.
