How Advanced Skin Care Options Can Aid Facelift Results

Our goal with facelift surgery, like any procedure, is to help you achieve your ideal outcome. To do this, Dr. James Matas tailors the process to your specific needs, which may include the addition of surgical or non-surgical treatments. With more than 30 years of plastic surgery experience, Dr. Matas has found that facelift patients can achieve improved results when their skin is healthy prior to the surgery.

To maximize the results of your facelift surgery, Dr. Matas will refer you to his medical aesthetician, Candice. She will recommend appropriate skin care products and will often perform a chemical peel to improve your skin’s texture prior to surgery. The treatment is provided far enough ahead of time for you to fully heal before your facelift, which is about three weeks prior. A chemical peel can prepare the skin for the lifting procedure and enhance the end result.

As part of the facial surgery package, Dr. Matas offers a pre-surgery chemical peel and a post-surgery chemical peel. Much of the time, our aesthetician may recommend a series of four to six treatments for the best outcome, with two of these being the pre- and post-operative peels.
